KBShimmer Summer 2016

Remember me?  Been a minute.

I needed a bit of a blogging break and while my hiatus wasn't exactly planned it certainly was needed.  I'm easing my way back into the swing of things and I hope you all have patience as I try to get used to swatching full collections again (it's rigorous stuff!).

On the agenda this evening is the KBShimmer Summer 2016 which releases June 1 -- which means in less than one hour!  How exciting!  Here is the entire collection (except one, which unfortunately, totally smudged on me and I was late for work and just couldn't make it work for this post [insert pathetic sad face] but will have it's own post shortly to make up for it) for you to begin making your Must Have list for the big day tomorrow!

Don't Play Koi
A classic KBShimmer milky crelly, this white base (which I layered over base of white creme) is flecked with coral, aqua, and grey hex and circle glitters in multiple sizes.  There's something super 80s about this color palette but isn't summer all about the 80s vibe?

Neon Me
Another fabulous milky white crelly (again layered over a white creme), Neon Me is just so much fun!  The neon rainbow of matte glitter makes this polish the ultimate accent nail in my opinion and while I'm not wild about glitters, this is a must keep!

How Low Can You Flamingo
Can you even read this after viewing this swatch?  Talk about eye searing.  This neon pink is a true medium pink neon that totally freaked out my camera and is bleeding a bit more red toned here.  No needs for underwear, this applies like a dream without streaking or drying matte.  All neons should be made like this one!

Ready For a Good Lime
While slightly more chalky that her pink counterpart, Ready for a Good Lime is another fantastic neon, but of a more pastel neon variety.  Drying demi-matte, this isn't streaky or difficult to apply and another example of how KBShimmer just knows how to make well formulated polish.

That's Nude to Me
One of my favorites!  This blush toned nude holographic is just so soft and delicate, it was like fairy dust on the nail!  Two coats covered completely and in direct sunlight you can see how pretty the linear holo glows.  Love, love, love.

Mai Tai One On
Despite the fact that Mai Tai makes my hands look hella red, this buttery yellow is a pretty cool color.  The formula was a bit foamy (the only word I can think to describe it)  and took about 3 coats before reaching opacity.  The golden shimmer you see also has a cool blue sheen to it which sadly doesn't show in photos and kinda disappears on the nail but adds a bit of depth to the shade of this yellow.

Along for the Tide
Like a reflecting pool on the nail, Along for the Tide is refreshing and cool.  But while this looks like it's semi metallic, it's not -- the glow is created because of the gorgeous purple and aqua microshimmer ribboning this incredible cobalt blue.  Three coats to cover completely.

Gull, Get Real!
Similar in formulation to the Birthstone Collection, GGR is a silvery lilac phenomenon.  This reminds me of crushed metal and stone that was melted into a polish.  It's something special and despite how complex it appears, applies super smoothly in three easy coats!

One Night Sand
Same formula as above but with a golden red tone.  Not loving the color as much, but the name is just hilarious.

Suit the Breeze
I adore this super bright cornflower periwinkle and its pink microshimmer.  Similar to Mai Tai, it has the foamier formula which gives it a puffier appearance but it's not any more difficult to apply.  I can see myself grabbing this color a lot this summer.

Good Reef!
From the bottle, Good Reef! looks like a delicate peachy pink with a lovely pastel microshimmer glowing from within.  Once on, the color is almost neon pastel, boosted by the foamy formula and shimmer to a happier, summer shade.  Another must have shade for summer, this was a happy surprise and it's brightness really brightened my day!

Playing with the Buoys

The lone creme is a stunner so stay tuned!
