Colores de Carol 2016 Collection | Swatches and Review

Hello there!

As a huge fan of Colores de Carol (the blog, the brand, and the lady behind it all), I'm pleased to introduce the Spring 2016 Collection. A set of 7 muted bright cremes and a pastel matte glitter, there's something girly, edgy, chic, fun, playful, and different all at the same time in this polish set. The formulas on these were all equally perfection and covered opaquely in 2-3 coats. I chose to highlight each with an accent of the matte, Pix, over a white base - but for more details on that see the end of the post.

Now on to the swatches!

A sunflower yellow, Darzi is a yellow with an unbelievable formula. While I'm not a fan of yellows typically, I do love that this is a touch dusty, giving it a great spring appeal.

I love a great mint green so I was super excited to test Lillian. I was a bit disappointed in how neon-esque she appeared on me though; I really wanted this to be more of a bright pastel. Maybe I'm just too pale? Regardless, it is a great color and would look amazing on anyone with a tan. Great formula to boot.

One of my favorites, Yon-Dale borders the pink/purple line beautifully. Super playful, this epitomizes spring without the quintessential pastel aspect. The formula on this one is a tad gummy so just shake this well before using. Otherwise, I love this!

As much as I love a good blue, I'm a bit over the cobalt thing. Maybe too much of a good thing, etc.?  Regardless, for those not over this trend, Niola is a lovely dusty cobalt and applies like a dream.

A surprise favorite for me, Jallaford is a gorgeous muted teal. Now if you read this blog regularly, you know I have a hard time pulling off teals. But there's something about the dustiness here that just screams chicness. Unfortunately, this photographed horribly and kept pulling my skin super red so I tried color correcting my photos as best as possible to give you as color accurate a shot as I could. But believe me, this one is a keeper.

A medium dusty purple that leans towards lavender. Perfection. I really don't need to say anymore, do I?

Perhaps my other favorite is Royce. I'm a sucker for corals and this dusty, girly creme with the perfect balance of pink and peach just screams spring and flowers to me. I couldn't ask for more in a polish.

And to our supporting cast: Pix. This matte glitter of pastel squares, once layered over a white base, she softly mutes into a tissue papery bouquet of pastel delicacy. Like the ultimate Easter glitter for those that don't like glitter.
