Summer Shades, Week 2: Pistachio Mints | Pixi Lime Lustre

Hello, there.

Had to miss Twinsie Tuesday yesterday due to the fact that we were experiencing ridiculously high temperatures in New York the past few days and power outages were on the rise.  To avoid losing my AC, I shied away from using any unnecessary electricity, namely my computer or camera or anything besides my phone that required charging.  Since I didn't swatch my TT mani in advance, that had to be sacrificed in the name of non-melting-ness (not a word, but it's hot, so forgive me).

Now that's it cooling down a bit and this swatch was pre-loaded onto Blogger, I thought I'd take the opportunity to share it with you as part of Week 2 of Summer Shades: Pistachio Mints.  Pixi Lime Lustre is actually a polish I ordered from Target online last summer but didn't wear until this year.  Quite an annoying saga regarding this actually: I ordered this and another Pixi from and when they arrived, they were both totally shattered since they were just shoved into an unpadded envelope without being wrapped by anything.
When I called customer service to have these replaced, they wanted to charge me additional shipping and handling fees for the new items!  So un-Target-like!  I was able to talk them out of that and in the end somehow ended up getting another set sent to me, once again unwrapped.  They weren't broken, but I called to complain once again.  Not sure why, but they sent me another set of the polishes.  I ended up returning those to the store since I never paid for the extra two they sent and felt weird keeping them.  Such a weird glitch in the Target matrix.

Anyway, on a positive note, this Pixi is delightful.  The formula was really quite lovely and applied super easily despite the long brush which I thought might make application a bit unwieldy.  The color is awesome: a cool tone lime-esque mint with ribbons of golden shimmer running throughout giving it that really heavenly glow.  Just so summery!

I'm not sure if this color is available in stores anymore since Pixi polishes tend to be seasonal but I'm sure you can find it on eBay or some online etailer.  Pixi polishes are a bit steep for how much they offer ($8 for such a small bottle) so I tend to only splurge for a really unique shade like this beauty.  Loving Lime Lustre -- might be my favorite Pistachio Mint thus far!
