Twinsie Tuesday | Mug Inspired

Perhaps one of the more random TT prompts, today we are tasked to post a mani inspired by our favorite mug or cup.  While I'm a huge coffee and tea drinker, I'm not particular about the mugs out of which I drink.  So I took inspiration out of the fact that (1) I wanted to wear my new OPI Chiffon My Mind and (2) that I have a mug that's nearly 22 years old that I still use and went to town.

OPI Chiffon My Mind for the latest soft shades collection is a magnificent white crelly with the most remarkable shimmer.  While my macro captures the shimmer, what it doesn't and unfortunately couldn't, was the shimmer shift from blue to purple, although you can make out some of the shift from the bottle in my second photo.  For a better shot of the shift, be sure to head to Instagram where I posted a much better bottle shot the day I bought this OPI.  This was opaque in three coats but I recommend allowing a bit of dry time in between coats to avoid balding and pulling.

Isn't she just a beaute?

And here's my inspiration: a mug I was given by my grandmother when I was about 7 when I got my dog, a Bichon Frise.  While Cotton (that's what my 7-year old self named my family dog growing up) wasn't quite as pouffy as the mug depicts Bichons, she was a fluffy white dog and absolutely beautiful -- similar to the OPI.  Even though Cotton passed away when I was 19, I still have and adore this ridiculous mug.  Kinda worse for wear but still in my cabinet every morning.
