Twinsie Tuesday: Ovarian Cancer Awareness

For this week's Twinsie Tuesday, we are all posting teal nails to support September Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month. Over 80% of ovarian cancer diagnoses are late stage and metastasized, when the chance of surviving more than 5 years in just 44%.  If diagnosed early, a woman's chance of surviving 5 years increases to 93%.  Wearing teal this month is just one small way to remind women to go to their gynecologist's regularly for testing to help defeat fatality of this disease.

For my teal, I chose SmittenPolish Radiantly Royal. I was to preface and say that this is not what Radiantly Royal is meant to look like; Noelie's creation was originally a royal blue jelly with royal blue shimmer.  However, after removing it from my polish drawer, I saw that it had mutated into a green-leaning teal with matching shimmer.  I swatched it to be sure it wasn't my eyes deceiving me, and to be sure, the polish had morphed into a color I completely I had not expected.  While I had purchased this polish last summer, it remained unopened in a cool, room temperature the entire time.  I reached out to Noelie, since I know her to be exceptionally responsive and helpful on all customer service matters, who explained (within minutes of me sending my email) there was a defect in the colorant used and that she'd send me a new bottle immediately.  Color me impressed.

Nevertheless, I still think that this version of Radiantly Royal is a great way to help support awareness for the fifth most common cancers among women.  This was 3 coats.

Radiantly Royal is not one of SmittenPolish's core colors but it is released from time to time.  If you are interested in this version, I will be adding it to my Grab Bag for Charity polishes.  If you are interested in this polish in particular and want to help contribute to the National Eating Disorders Association, please email me and let me know that you'd like this polish included.

  6. It is a pretty polish but how disappointing that it's not the polish colour you originally bought. Good to know you're getting a replacement.
