Twinsie Tuesday | Biggest Splurge

Good morning.

Sorry for the minor absence.  Believe me it hurt me more than it hurt you; having not been home since last Tuesday, my swatch pile has just grown and I'm trying to catch up as quickly as I can.

First up on the swatch list is my Twinsie Tuesday polish, this week's being my biggest splurge.  I have bought Chanel polishes for people's birthdays but I've never really been able to splurge that way for myself.  So while mentally going through my pricier polish, I realized a lot of the higher end bottles were gifts or sent for review.

I then remembered a few summers ago tossing and turning over Butter London Two Fingered Salute.  At first, I engaged in a bitter bidding war on eBay but it started to get insanely high and even though the color was a limited edition and hard to come by at the point, I wasn't willing to really go past $20.  So my eBay opponent won that day.

However, I still really wanted it and finally just decided to go onto Nordstrom.com (free shipping, free returns!) and spend the flat $16 for the BL.  When it came, I was so excited and wearing it again now I see why.  A grey-toned mint creme, Two Fingered Salute is rich in golden microshimmer.  The shimmer isn't sparkly, more subdued, so from afar this Butter London is a muted neutral that works well for both spring and fall.

This is 3 coats.

Worth the money?

  1. Oh how I understand you here!! I went crazy after I first spotted this one and didn't stop until I hunted it down! I saw some really high prices as well. Vut, like you, I purchased from Nordstrom. It's definitely one of my favorite polishes of all time.

  7. This shade is gorgeous on you; I'm definitely hesitant about spending on polishes sometimes too!

  8. It's a hard call on something that diminishes the more you use it.

  9. Isn't finally getting a lemming so wonderful?! Even if we do have to splurge!

  11. I was the same way! I couldn't even bring myself to spend the $16 at Nordstrom! I ended up lucking out and finding it on a blog sale for $8. That was a price I was willing, even though this is definitely my favorite polish!

  12. This polish isn't my cup of tea, but I can see why you wanted it! The color looks super unique, and fun in a neutral way.

  14. It's definitely different so I get how it may not speak to everyone.

  15. It wouldn't be my first choice but it is a nice polish. I haven't tried any BL polishes. The price is a tad high. If I found a polish I fell in love with I probably would splurge on it though.

  16. The truth is there are always dupes. Chanel Taboo was such a huge hit but I just couldn't bring myself to get it. Lucky for me, No. 7 came out with a dupe and having family from England, I was able to get the color for a fraction of the price (even with the exchange rate)!
