To be honest, at first I wasn't sold on the Naturel Deux Collection. Too much brown and mauve, it just didn't feel fresh. Once I swatched these, you could have knocked me over with a feather. I love the ombre trio of caramel browns and mauve lavenders this collection presents. Plus the fact that the formula for each was spectacular (Zoya has been pretty consistent on that front) and required two coats for opacity.
I hope you enjoy!
A delicate toasted almond, Spencer is about two shades darker than my natural skin tone, which makes this color wash me out a bit. While I'm not as in love with Spencer as I was with her softer sister Flynn, I think that this nude would suit many girls with darker skin tones.
Like melted milk chocolate, Chanelle has a latte-colored feel to it. I'm not crazy about this shade of brown (it's not dark enough to be vampy, not light enough to be a nude) but appreciate how it fits in with the rest of the collection. I'll chalk this up to being a tonal issue since I just didn't love how Chanelle looks on me.
Now we're talking! A charcoal toned brown, I am in love with Emilia. I am obsessed with how Emilia marries cool grey undertones with a deep chocolaty brown creme. This is a total win for me.
The lightest of the second ombre trio, Madeline is a lilac mauve (mauve lavender?) which read much chicer than I anticipated. I typically shy away from pinks, purples, and reds with brown undertones but Madeline's dusty tone and feminine appeal really spoke to me. Another major winner.
Aubrey is a creamy raisin purple and I absolutely adore her! Despite being so warm-toned, there's something stark about Aubrey that makes it striking against my skin tone. I love this take on an autumn plum!
Let's conclude with my favorite, shall we? Marney is a rich deep mauve that is perfectly fall. Maybe I have a soft spot for Marney because it's my cousin's name, but this is just the gem of the collection to me!
