I think I actually cringed when I saw what this week's TT prompt was. Sideway French? Oy. There was no way I could even cheat my way out of it.
Resigning myself to actually have to do even the most basic of nail art, I looked for colors that would complement each other. While going over my stash, I saw that I had already separated 4 different polishes to layer together eventually. I figured why not and began my mani.
I started with an every other skittle using Wet n Wild Ferris-Wheel Romance (the pinky peach) and Chambray Showers (the sky blue aqua), which I believe are limited edition from this summer. I then used NYC Pink Champagne and Skyline Blue to serve as a subtle sideways French. Sadly, the Pink Champagne got a bit gloopy and Skyline Blue refused to photograph with its stunning shimmer so I'll definitely have to swatch those separately at another time. For a little extra kick, I topped my pinkie and index fingers with Maybelline Precious Pearl. Initially, I wanted to then sandwich the matte white glitter with the NYC shimmery polishes but opted against it so the Wet n Wild colors can really shine.
And there you have it! A sideways French manicure. For more of this interest nail art experiment, make sure to check out my Twinsies' posts by clicking their links below.
