I initially picked the Julie G. Cruise Collection at the beginning of the summer during a Groupon sale. I actually wore each of these colors throughout the summer so it took a bit to get every swatch done, however, now that Groupon has slashed its price on this collection in half (see bottom of the post for more information!), it seemed perfect timing to complete the swatching and post this fun summer set. Take a look!
My absolute favorite from this collection, Tahiti is a lovely mint green creme with a very hidden shimmer. The formula was great and I loved wearing this!
I have a weird weakness for a nice orange polish and San Juan really hit the spot. The negative? It chipped pretty badly after less than a day of wear. Please note that this creme can look very muted or very bright depending on the lighting.
Another great color from this collection, Santorini is a bright cornflower blue creme with an even more hidden shimmer than Tahiti. In fact, the shimmer doesn't even show up on the nail. While a visible shimmer would make this polish absolutely stellar, the color itself is still super pretty. The formula, however, was thick and gloopy and could definitely use some polish thinner.
I know the girls who love yellow will go gaga for Canary Islands but I have to say, I just hated it on. It was a tad too warm toned for my skin and I felt jaundiced while I wore it. Formula wasn't too streaky for a yellow but, like Santorini, it was tacky and hard to apply.
I just don't get Miami Beach. In the bottle, it looks like a really vibrant coral red. On the nail, it becomes a dusty and muted, fairly unflattering coral. And then in the photos, it became a searing orange-toned red. Maybe it's me and I just can't see colors properly anymore, but I just don't know how to properly describe Miami Beach. Again, Santorini formula; definitely needed thinner.
Rio de Janeiro
I was looking forward to loving this warm berry creme, I really, really was. However, like Miami Beach, it became quite dusty and muted on the nail. I wish it was a notch or two brighter than it ended up. That would've really made for a fabulous summer plum!
And if you love this collection, you're in luck! Groupon (referral link) is currently running a deal where you can purchase this entire collection for $13.99. Check out the deal by clicking here.
