We're still in the swing of summer and how best to celebrate than with neon nail polish? Some general notes on the Salon Perfect Neon Pop! Collection: all required about 3 to 4 coats for opacity and none is layered over white (so you can see what they look like naturally). All are topped with Salon Perfect Clear Top Coat for a glossy shine as they all dry matte.
Fired Up Fuchsia
I absolutely loved FUF. A blue toned neon pink, the blue shimmer in this neon beauty is absolutely amazing. Here's the rub: it chipped worse than any other polish I have ever used. Within 4 hours of applying, I had giant flakes disappearing off every nail. This was the only of the collection I wore as a full mani and used a base coat with this. I haven't heard that neons are best used without a base coat, but perhaps that's the only way these polishes stay. Just a word of warning I thought important to share with you.
Probably my favorite from the entire collection, Tickled Pink is a bubblegum neon with a hint of coral undertone. I also used Ticked Pink in my latest Twinsie Tuesday post and it magically photographed pretty well in both posts. Deliciously creamy formula for a fantastic summer mani.
I'm not the hugest fan of slime green neons, but Loopy Lime really caught my attention. A bit greener than it photographed, the electric yellow shimmer really makes Loopy Lime a head turner. Fantastic application with this one too!
Another yummy neon, Flamingo Flair is a bit less orange than it photographed here. Imagine more of a creamsicle peach color, but equally as eye-searing. Delicious creamy formula here.
The lone jelly of the collection, Plum Sorbet seems out of place. While it photographed on the brighter side, in real life, this red toned purply color (I can't really place it) is kinda meh. Runny and uninteresting, I'd pass on Plum Sorbet unless you really like jelly sandwiches and uncategorizable plum polishes.
Sadly, Haute Pink just didn't translate at all as a photo. I love neon reds and Haute Pink is exactly that. But what we have here is simply an orange-y looking neon. I'm so disappointed. Please just know that this is really amazing and I've already worn it as a pedicure. A definite must have for neon lovers!
Okay, I lied. Yowza Yellow is also a jelly. This neon highlighter color is pretty cool and for a yellow AND a neon, applied super easily. Four coats for this is a definite, but the last two coats are mostly touch ups so it wasn't a pain whatsoever. I'd probably layer this over white the next go around but I wanted you to see what it looked like on its own. Pretty cool, no?
I can't get enough of neon orange this summer and Traffic Cone does not disappoint! An eye-searing true orange, this is actually brighter and cooler toned in person. This has also been a pedicure and I loved looking it this color in my sandals. Imagine Tang as a polish and you have Traffic Cone.
I have a feeling Bermuda Baby will be the fan favorite of this collection. A shimmery, aqua neon, Bermuda Baby is really the summer personified. While a tad bit darker in real life, I can attest to the fanasticness of the shimmer in this standout shade. And best of all, no staining!
