ModCloth Nail Klub Inspirational Mani

I was recently asked by ModCloth to partake in their Nail Klub to use one of their dresses as inspiration for a nail art manicure.  While I'm not any sort of nail art extraordinaire, I do love me some fashion and felt it would be a fun challenge to come up with something that reflected one of the many girly designs sold at ModCloth.

I was immediately drawn to the Poetry in the Plaza Dress, which you can view below:

A black and white pencil dress, the red belt accent really gave this '50s secretary look an extra dose of Joan Holloway that I always love in a dress.

Here's my take at an inspiration mani:

More abstract than literal, I used KBShimmer Stark Raven Mad for the black creme, OPI Red My Fortune Cookie, OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls, a Salon Perfect black nail art liner, and Orly Au Champagne topped with Maybelline Clearly Spotted.

While I'm still working my way through the basics of nail art, I hope I didn't disappoint ModCloth too much!

A few of these products was provided for my honest, unbiased review.  Please see my PR Disclosure Policy for more information.

  1. These are nice! I like the dress inspirational a lot too.

  2. I love how you broke the dress down with each nail! That dress is really pretty too.

  3. Super gorgeous! I love what you did and I certainly love that dress!
