One of my favorite indie brands has hit it with part two of its fantastic 24 piece summer collection. Here are my picks for the Late Summer Collection of 2014. Take a look!
Peak My Interest
A warm toned coral jelly, what makes Peak My Interest pique my interest (get it? Yeah, yeah, not good, but how could I not?) is the white triangle glitter pieces punctuating the lilac and blue hex glitter. One of the most unique glitter polishes I've ever encountered, this was opaque in 3 coats.
Periwinkle in Time
I wanted to love Periwinkle in Time because the cornflower blue/lilac creme base is just delicious to look at it. However, the mix of white, blue, mint, and purple circle and hex glitter just makes the polish look somewhat bumpy and unfinished. Not my cup of tea, however, it must be said that this applied fabulously in 3 coats.
Red, White, & Blue-tiful
I never thought I would swoon over a shaped glitter, but wow, am I in love with Red, White, & Blue-tiful. The metallic patriotic star glitters glow in a clear jelly base of red, white, and blue microglitter and holographic shimmer. I had to dab this over white to place the glitters but it's completely worth it. I love, love, love this!
KBShimmer has won my heart simply by the way it produces creme polishes. Radiant Orchid is no exception and in two coats was buttery and glossy on my fingertips. I'm intrigued at their take at Pantone's Color of the Year in that with a little bit of mauve undertones, Radiant Orchid (the polish) can seamlessly move into autumn. While part of the summer collection, I'm going to hold off wearing this pretty purple shade until the fall.
I'm a fan of anything mint colored so I fell in love with Mint-al just holding the bottle. A shimmery seafoam green, Mint-al glows that much more with its linear holographic quality. It's hard to see some of the holo-y goodness with amidst the silvery shimmer, but I'm not terribly upset since this polish is amazing. Because this formula can be slightly dragging, I'd recommend 3 thin coats, waiting some time between each coat.
You're So Shellfish
If you like neons, you'll love You're So Shellfish. Touted as almost neon, I'd disagree and say this is where searing orange-leaning coral neons begin. The formula was astoundingly fantastic and glowed radioactively in two perfect, buttery coats. I actually wore this beauty the weekend of my birthday and loved every minute of it.
