Hello, ladies. Tuesday yet again!
This Tuesday is extra special in that we are welcoming two new Twinsies: Jessica from Blue Velvet Lacquer and Bridget from A Painted Nail. We are so thrilled to have these two super talented girls with us and hope you will all enjoy their Twinsie manicures as well!
Now to the polish! This week's theme, Summer Lovin', completely baffled me. To be honest, I'm not sure what was meant by it, but when I hear "summer" I think neons and Jersey Shore. And when I think Jersey Shore and neons, I think Snooki. And when I think Snooki, I think leopard print.
Inspired by many a mani by Nory, I decided to freehand a neon skittle leopard print mani. Using all the polishes from the Models Own Polish for Tans, I started with a base of Bikini, a super neon yellow that looks a bit more warm-toned in this photo than it looks in real life. I then dabbed the spots (from left to right: Beach Bag, Shades, Flip Flop, and Sun Hat) and messily added the black lines using Salon Perfect Liner Basics in Black Ink (press sample).
Up close, my freehand dabbing and swiping looks rather ill-placed, but please believe me when I say that this looked fantastic and well-placed when just looking at my hand as a whole. In fact, when I sent a photo of this to my friend, she thought these were decals. I kinda got all gushy at the thought that maybe I could be a nail artsy fartsy person too!
I plan on reviewing the entire Polish for Tans collection shortly so I won't go into depth about color or formula here. Until then, please make sure to check out my Twinsies' Summer Lovin' manicures by clicking their links below!
