It feels like Spring has literally just arrived and yet the polish brands are making me anxious for summer! For my first Summer 2014 set, I have Zoya Tickled, a bright and luscious grouping of six beach ready cremes. Take a look at these beauties.
Please note that these were very, very bright cremes and while not neon, did play hide and seek with my camera. I'll note which colors are brighter than they photographed in my reviews below.
The lone three-coater of the bunch, the formula of Kitridge was also the worst. Clumpy and streaky, I found that even with its natural leveling, Kitridge was just a pain to apply. However, the color is insanely gorgeous and about two notches brighter in real life. Think Barbie's bubblegum on steroids. With a little polish thinner, I think I can find room in my heart for Kitridge.
I have suuuch a weakness for coral cremes and I wish that Wendy played better with my camera so you can see how fabulous she is. Bright and bubbly, this two coater was just happiness in a bottle.
While not the most unique of colors, I do like how Rocha really straddles the line between tomato red and hot orange. A delicious two-coater, this will make for a striking pedicure with the right tan.
What's a 2014 collection without a Radiant Orchid? Zoya introduced their version with Rooney, a medium purple-toned pink creme. I have a hard time with these shades, not because I don't like them -- I do -- but because they tend to blend with my skin tone too much and lose the standout quality it has in the bottle. Anyone paler (God help you) or darker than me will revel in this shade. Two even coats.
In all honesty, Tilda is not in my comfort zone of colors. A grasshopper green (or "mantis green," as Zoya.com puts it), Tilda has a strong yellow undertone that I typically shy away from. But there's something so juicy and fresh about this citrus green I can't help but enjoy it on my fingertips. Two perfect coats here.
How can anyone not love a rich, medium cobalt blue like Ling? My goodness, is she a stunner and a half. In real life, this appears even deeper and more lush and even that much more amazing. Love this to pieces. Two coats here.
