Sally Hansen Moroccan Spice Collection

Of the spring collections I've seen thus far, the Sally Hansen Moroccan Spice Collection for the InstaDri line really stands out.  Say goodbye to your typical rainbow of pastels and say hello to a collection of rich, North African-inspired cremes.  This may not be everyone's cup of a tea as a collection, but individually, I can see these reaching a wide market.

Behold, the Limited Edition Moroccan Spice Collection for Spring 2014.

Sumac Sonic
One of my top two from this collection, Sumac Sonic is a bright carnation pink creme that just screams spring.  While nothing particularly unique, there's something really fresh and bubbly about Sumac Sonic.  This won my heart over instantly after three coats.

Surspice!
I've said it before, but I just can't pull off any brown-leaning reds or pinks.  Surspice! is just a tad too brick-ish of a red to wear well on my skin tone and I really just don't like it one iota.  I also don't like how badly the polish bleeds; I had to put my watermark over my index finger cuticle because after the polish pooled, I couldn't get the red out of my cuticle line.  Two coats here.

Moracc-go
As much as I adore brown polishes, I couldn't warm up to Moracc-go.  This milk chocolate shade of brown has a little too much yellow in its undertone for my liking.  However, I can see this glowing on a more olive-toned or darker skinned beauty, it's just not working on my vampiric complexion.  This was two coats.

Pep in Your Step
As a purple lover, I must admit that looking at Pep in Your Step in the bottle underwhelmed me.  However, on the nail, I was pleasantly surprised.  An indigo-leaning purple creme, the gloss factor on this baby is unbelievable.  Inky yet bright, I adore Pep in Your Step.  This was three coats.

Sizzlin' Saffron
And here we have the star of this collection: Sizzlin' Saffron.  You know how everyone bemoans yellow application?  Well, bemoan no longer.  On top of being the most flattering sunshine yellow creme, Sizzlin' Saffron applies fantastically.  I was absolutely floored how easily this yellow applied and complete opaque in three coats -- with not a streak or unevenness in sight!

Poppin' Paprika
What appears to be a more and more popular color for spring, Poppin' Paprika is a bright red-leaning orange creme.  Not quite as bright as it photographed, Poppin' Paprika is still a searing shade of wonderful.  Love, love, love.  This was two or three coats (I forgot, sorry!).

  1. Sumac Sonic is beautiful but I have plenty of the same colours with the same formula :/ I love the yellow but after getting stung by the OPI Brazil collection yellow I think I'll give them a miss. It is a great collection though! Sally Hansen are on the ball altogether lately.

  3. I know you were disappointed with the OPI yellow, but I really suggest you try this one. I'm not a yellow fan so I wouldn't put up with shoddy formula on a good day for it, so if I'm raving about this, I mean business.

  4. I'm starting to like cremes a lot more, especially summer shades like this. They are really gorgeous! I'm really loving Sumac Sonic and Sizzlin' Saffron. Do you know if they're dupes of the yellow and pink from the OPI Brazilian collection?

  5. I don't have either, but comparing my swatches to those I've seen online, I'd say they are dead on dupes to OPI Kiss Me I'm Brazilian (Sumac Sonic) and I Can't Copecabana (Sizzlin' Saffron). And from the mixed reviews I've heard about the OPI yellow, I'd dare say this is the better buy!
