Zoya Magical PixieDust for Spring 2014

Wednesday, ladies.
Not the best hello, but I'm not quite ready for cheerful greetings this morning.  Not enough coffee in the world.

On that happy note, I have much belated swatches of the Zoya Magical PixieDust for Spring 2014.  These textured polishes are different from the original pixies in that they are really just chunky, holographic glitters.  From the bottle and on the nail, these are truly magical to look at.  For texture lovers, this may be the panacea; however, for my liking, these are just too rough and kinda unwearable.

As to application, they were all surprisingly easy to work with.  Somewhat sheer, these need about three coats to really cover the nail.

The pink of the bunch, this was surprisingly the sheerest.  Not my favorite.

Very mermaidesque, Vega's blue-leaning teal has a nice iridescence in addition to its holographic glitter.

A champagne gold, Cosmo is actually my favorite of the bunch in terms of color.  I adore how the pearly pastel rainbow of the glitter comes alive when the light hits it just so.

You can purchase the Zoya Magical PixieDust for $10 each by clicking here.

  1. The texture was a bit much for me too, but adding a coat of Seche Vite made it a lot smoother. Adding the topcoat didn't diminish the sparkle at all.

  2. I'm surprised only one coat glossed it over. When I tried topcoating my other Pixies, it dulled the sparkle and didn't make it smooth at all.

  3. Even though I love Pixie Dusts, I was afraid I'd hate this collection because of the chunkier glitters, but I absolutely love them! All three are gorgeous!!

  4. They look great, but I've been hearing a lot about the chunkiness of these

  5. If you like texture, then these are great. If you're on the fence, I'd pass.
