Twinsie Tuesday: Matte and Gloss

Happy Tuesday, all.

Today's Twinsie Tuesday challenge of matte and gloss is an interesting one, and one that I actually spent a lot of time thinking about.  Initially, I wanted to do something along the lines of my Inspired by a Magazine manicure that involved a matte and similarly colored creme polish.  But since I felt that copying myself was a bit of a bust, I decided to whip out some black and white matte glitter and see what I could create.

I began with Sephora by OPI White Hot, a really amazing bright white creme that I'm so happy I snagged before the SOPIs went kaput.  For an accent, I used Orly Goth, a glossy black creme with silver microglitter that are sadly not as visible on the nail as they are in the bottle.  To add that bit of matte, I layered two coats of Salon Perfect Touchy Feely over the white, providing a cookies and cream appearance.  Sadly, the white matte glitters disappeared over the matching base, but I'm not sure why I expected anything different.

I'm not sure whether or not I totally love my final product but I'm proud that I stretched myself in this interpretation of gloss and matte.  What do you think?
