Twinsie Tuesday: Hometown Inspired

Being from New York City, one would think that an inspired by your hometown challenge would be a breeze.  Yellow polish for yellow cabs?  Any polish with the words "New York" or an area thereof (and believe me, there are many)?  Figuring out how to draw the "I ♥ NY" icon on my nails?  I nixed all of those early on mostly due to the fact that I wanted to stay as far away from nail art, vampy shades, or the color yellow as possible this week.  Clearly, I was being difficult.

When I mentioned the challenge to my best friend, her instant reaction was "Yankees."  Being a rabid Philadelphia sports fan (read: insane.  Anyone with friends from Philly will know the type), her mind is all about sports.  Since I really couldn't think of anything else, I went with the Yankee pinstripes to represent New York City.  As the black sheep in my family (a Yankee fan in a long line of Mets fans), I thought this would also make a solidly support for my fandom.

Not the cleanest lines in the world, but I also swore off nail art, so this will have to do.

For this mani, I used OPI Eurso Euro, Sephora by OPI White Hot, and Diamond Cosmetics Concrete Jungle (figured that was apt).  All else aside, these are lovely colors together.

  2. Beautiful! I love the colors you chose. They work perfectly together! And straight lines are easily THE hardest thing for me with nail art. Yours look good! Did you freehand?

  12. I love Eurso Euro so much, except the smell. Mine kind of smells skunk-like but it goes away when it's dried. Totally worth it because the color is gorgeous. Love it.

  14. As the proudly fanatical Philly sports fan mentioned in your post, I'm glad that you for once listened to me. It came out really cute. Give yourself more credit when it comes to doing nail art. I've got to go now. There's a game on;)
