Zoya Awaken Collection for Spring 2014

Instagram @amandalandish
For Spring 2014, Zoya brings us a palette of jellied and shimmery pastels...with an iridescent twist.  Check out the Awaken Collection below!

Dot
I typically shy away from soft pinks that aren't opaque cremes but Dot has won my heart.  A crelly ballerina pink, this is soft without disappearing onto my hands.  The formula was excellent but required 3 coats for the opacity above.

Cole
Identical in formula to Dot, Cole is a soft cantaloupe crelly, a color that keeps popping up in many of the spring collections for 2014.  Warm and happy, I love orange creamsicle pastels for spring and this fits the bill!  Again, 3 coats.

Dillon
What's a spring collection without a mint green?  Dillon is not your run of the mill mint though, flushed with heavy silvery golden shimmer.  Application was buttery but sheer and I recommend waiting between coats for the shimmers in this collection to avoid clumping.  This was 3 coats.

Rebel
I adore the brightness of Rebel's sky blue but like Dillon, this definitely needed a third coat for stronger opacity.  Those bald spots are really killing me but the color is remarkable.

Brooklyn
A golden metal yellow, Brooklyn is just not my thing.  Fairly brushstroke-y, this finishes slightly frosty.  As a New Yorker, I would've loved Brooklyn to be more current, but this is a dud in my book.  3 coats for this swatch.

Hudson
Hudson is like liquid mermaid to me.  Lilac swimming with silver shimmer, this absolutely glows.  Love, love, love -- did you have any doubt?  But like Dillon and Rebel, this required 3 coats.

Monet
The special topper for the Awaken Collection, Monet is a mix of iridescent hex glitter ina baby pink jelly base.  To demonstrate the versatility of this beauty, I layered one coat over both a white creme and the shimmery Hudson.  As you can see, the white really brings out the pastel glow in Monet and is a combination I absolutely adore.  Over Hudson, the iridescence gets a bit lost over the heavy shimmer but leaves a very light-reflecting mani.  In both cases, I had to dab Monet to get equal coverage since the base jelly is pretty thick.

  5. Gorgeous. Great price too. I am so in love with Color Club holographic right now, that I just ordered a set from Amazon -a bit pricey though! Oh, well.

  6. Sometimes eBay is the cheaper way to go with the CC holographics.
