Twinsie Tuesday: First Polish Ever Swatched on Amandalandish

Happy Tuesday, all.

I'm actually kind of excited for today's Twinsie Tuesday post since we have to show the first polish we ever swatched on our blog.   Back on October 2, 2011, I first swatched China Glaze Midnight Mission.  At the time, I had no particular hand position (or even realized there was such a thing), was taking my photos was my camera phone, and wrote a single line of description, "Smooth application, 2 coats.  Shimmer visible even outside of direct sunlight."

Now over two years later, I have a bit more to say.  Midnight Mission is buttery navy shimmer-creme that sparkles with the finest of silver shimmer.  MM appears to have a semi-metallic finish, but I'd prefer to describe that as the reflective nature of the ribbons of shimmer that flow throughout this blue.   I still absolutely love this polish and am happy to have started Amandalandish with it.

This is two coats.

I'm so curious to see what my Twinsies started with!  Make sure to check out their firsts by clicking their links below.

  1. Very nice! And I love your current hand position too. It's so unique!

  2. I always love your descriptions, they make me want to run to the store and buy whatever you are showing! Such a beautiful blue to start with.

  3. I love this polish! It is so pretty!

  4. Gorgeous color. I'm sure I asked this before but how do you take your pictures .ow? I like your hand position too, I still don't have it together,

  5. So funny...not sure what I did differently that everyone is commenting on it! But thank you!

  6. Aw, that really means so much because I think describing the polish is half the battle.

  7. I typically photograph in a lightbox with two natural sunlight desk lamps on either side, with my hand holding the bottle upright. I then rotate the picture when I edit since I like the way that captures the polish best.

  8. This polish is beautiful! Aw hehe your first swatch was so cute!

  9. This is such a gorgeous polish! Can't say enough about how awesome it is, and what a great one to start off with too! I also love seeing how you've progressed since then. Position, descriptions, lighting, photography, all of it! ^_^
