Sally Hansen Pink-Grape Fruit over Midnight in NY

Yeah, so my whole Black and White Week got slightly derailed on Day 5.  To be honest, I just got home too late and completely konked out before I was able to go onto my computer.  I only realized this morning that I had already swatched what I needed for today but because I had to swatch a million other things, again forgot to post this.  I'm not sure if that's a blogger problem or my personal issues that need to be taken up with a professional, but I thought I owed you all an explanation for Day 5's B&W mani showing up at the tail end of Day 6.  Either way, whoops.

For today's black mani, I was inspired by my beautiful Twinsie Anne who recently posted this mani on her fabulous blog.  I picked up Sally Hansen Pink-Grape Fruit (totally don't understand the hyphen usage but after "Mimosa's Before Mani's," I'm game) at Target during the summer but what totally flummoxed as to what I should layer it over.  A stunning lilac jelly enriched with pink and purple micro flakies, I knew that the right underwear what key to making this beauty shine.

I played around with a bunch of colors one morning but nothing really struck me so I put PGF aside.  That is, until I saw Anne's gorgeous swatch of this over black.  I haven't the foggiest why layering this over black never even occurred to me, but I must give credit where credit is due: this is completely a testament to Anne's ability to make even a seemingly simple manicure inspire and astound.  Her manis really are breathtaking.

This is two coats of Sally Hansen Midnight in NY with one coat of Pink-Grape Fruit over it.

Don't those mini flakies completely shock and awe?  For less than $4, this Sally Hansen is a must have for everyone that likes a galaxy-esque chicness to her fingertips!
