Breast Cancer Awareness Pink Week and Twinsie Tuesday

Since today is both Tuesday and part of BCA Pink Week, I thought I would find a way to combine both themes for today's post.

For TT, we have to post our most hated trend.  There are a number trends that I haven't really been able to get behind: crackle, disco ball glitter, studs, bar glitter, hairy glitter, vomit-esque greens...okay, clearly I'm not the most openminded polishaholic, but you get the picture.

And then it hit me.  You know what I really can't stand?  Non seasonally colored nails.  I know that many girls (and guys for that matter) use polish as a way to express themselves so if they're happy in February, they'll throw on a neon yellow.  That's all good and well, but it drives me bonkers.  Neon yellows are reserved for summer in my book -- so are neons in general.  And so, to fulfill BCA Pink Week and my most hated trend, behond OPI I'm All Ears.

Don't get me wrong, I looove this color.  A fluorescent fuchsia jelly, I'm All Ears gets an added boost from some hot pink flakie shimmer.  Hot doesn't even begin to describe this shade...however, not in October.  This searing pink jelly will not be on my fingers for at least the next 8 months.  But a Twinsie does what she's asked to do and I delivered my hated trend.

I want to note that while the formula was difficult to work with, this level of opacity required four -- read 'em, four -- coats.  Was it worth it?  I mean, look at this beauty, of course.  But the removal wasn't so fun, which only added to my further annoyance of having such a bright color on during October.

More importantly, however, is our next Breast Cancer Awareness fact of the day.

Please make sure to check out my Twinsies' most hated trend too!

  2. Thanks! I like it too, but just not in the fall/winter.

  3. Oddly, I find myself agreeing with you. Prior to all this nail art I've committed to, I always stuck to seasonal colors. I do find it strange when I see someone wearing a neon in December!

  4. Not odd at all...at least to me ;)

  5. I love that color. I agree though it looks out of place in the dead of winter. Neons look better with a summer tan anyway.

  6. Quite an interesting take on the most hated trend. When I wasn't a blogger I used to do this all the time, but now that I am, it bothers me as well! haha

  10. You are definitely one of the few people I know who follows the seasonal rules!! Nothing wrong with that though.
