Twinsie Tuesday: Transitional Polish from Summer to Fall

You can ask Nory, but I've literally been counting the days down until fall.  Despite being a June baby, I hate the heat and can't wait for the season where I can whip out the layers, hats, mittens, scarves, boots, and hot caffeinated beverages.  Clearly, none of those things is as desirable in the middle of a heatwave.

That being said, I'm stoked to finally begin posting autumnal shades.  Woo hoo!  Like seriously.  I'm woo'ing and hoo'ing over here.

Okay, woo hoo moment over.  Anyways, today's Twinsie Tuesday is about transitional polish, this time from Summer to Fall.  As I am notoriously strict about only wearing seasonally appropriate colors, this was a bit tricky for me.  August is all about the last dregs of neons, aquas, and bubblegum shades of summer.  Fall to me is all about deep vampies and luxurious neutrals.  So how would I bridge the divide?

I decided to go with Essie Mochacino.  A grey-toned taupe, this Essie is flushed with ribbons and ribbons of silvery champagne shimmer.  In many ways, this is the perfect transitional shade: (1) it kind of looks like sand, (2) is named after a caffeinated beverage which can be served hot or iced, (3) is a neutral, not quite brown/not quite grey shade, and (4) was really the only polish I could think of that would have more than "because I would wear it between summer and fall" reason to choose it for this post.

This is an Essie at her finest.  Application was superb but since the color is tad bit thin, I used three coats for opacity.

And just for kicks, let's take a closer look at that shimmer.   I'll give you a few moments to wipe up any residual drool this may induce.

So there we have Mochacino, transitional polish from summer to fall.  Doesn't everyone just want to run to their nearest Starbucks now?  No?  Just me?  Oh well.

  2. You also think you don't look good in red so I'm taking what you're saying about it looking bad on you with a huge grain of salt ;)

  4. It's overpriced for what it is, so you're not missing much but the long lines and overhype.
