Twinsie Tuesday: Slayed the Lemming

** enter my Two Year Blogger-versary by clicking here **

I'm absolutely loving today's Twinsie Tuesday theme.  Referring to a polish that we've absolutely salivating for ages and finally having it in our possession, Slayed the Lemming was an easy one for me.  I often go through lemming phases, where I will go nuts searching for a particular polish, compare prices, watch it on eBay, decide not to get it, see more swatches, regret my decision, go back to eBay, see prices have gone up, rinse and repeat.  It's not a fun way to spend your free time but it certainly is colorful.

One particular lemming that had a bad rinse cycle was Deborah Lippmann Do the Mermaid.  Since it was released earlier in 2013 as a collection response to the widely well received Mermaid's Dream (more companies should be as responsive to beloved polishes as much as DL!), I've literally dreamed of owning Do the Mermaid.  Various shades of lavender in a shimmery lilac base?  Um, yes please!  This polish was basically (and clearly) made for me...unfortunately, no one informed Deborah Lippmann and co.  I assume this was a clerical error so I wholeheartedly forgive Ms. Lippmann for forgetting to send me my personalized bottle of this back in the Spring.

Luckily, my Twinsie Elizabeth, recognized the egregious mistake and immediately rectified the shipping error in June, a month coincidentally notable for possessing my birth date.  The timing could not have been better for remedying what was becoming a really insatiable inconvenience, also known as a really bad lemming going unfulfilled because I couldn't bring myself to buy a polish that pricey when it wasn't going as a gift to someone else.

Anyway, I present to you my slayed lemming.

O. M. Ever loving G.

Do the Mermaid did not disappoint in the slightest.  The formula wasn't as spectacular as other DLs I've used in the past, but I think I should have waited a tad bit longer between coats to avoid the glitter y formula from clumping up when applying the second, and then third, coat.  Nonetheless, I loooove this.  My ever loving thanks to Elizabeth for this beauty!

  19. You should check eBay, occasionally I've found some really great deals on pricier polishes like DLs.

  21. Haha, thanks! And yes, we've all been through "the cycle." Just as painful in some ways as the others cycles...
