Shimmer Polish Jacki

When I say that I have a slight obsession with Shimmer Polish Jacki, that may be an understatement.  After I first received this for review, I spent a good amount of time playing around with this plum violet microglitter, configuring layering combinations that would best complement the intense and rich colors finely ribboned throughout.

What I discovered was very exciting: because of how dense Jacki is, the base shade helps to determine the "pull" of the glitter.  My first time wearing it, I layered Jacki over Nicole by OPI Hard-Kourt Fashionista, a barbecue sauce burgundy that lent a more reddish black tone to the shimmer effect.  Unfortunately, my photos of that mani came out terribly so I took the opportunity to try another base color to see where Jacki would take me this time.

Here she is  layered over China Glaze Galactic Grey, a linear sable grey (supremely weak) holographic polish.  Believe me when I say that holo did absolutely nothing to add anything to Jacki; in one coat, it covered the base completely, dulling whatever holograph even slightly could be seen outside of natural sunshine.

I had to zoom in to show you how dazzling the dusting of glitter is across my nail.  Even though my China Glaze base was grey, it only served to cool down the final effect, bringing out the plummier shades of Jacki.

In a standard macro bottle shot, you can see that Jacki is in fact more garnet red leaning, interspersed with blue, green, and silver glitter.

Jacki is a phenom in my book.  Subtle yet intense, Jacki is the perfect glitter topper for someone like me: generally resistant to disco ball fingers but open to adding a little twinkle to an otherwise dark, vampy shade.  Love, love, love.

You can purchase Shimmer Polish on Etsy for $12 USD a bottle.
