Tawdry Terrier Dog Days of Summer Collection Swatches and Review

I love trying out new-to-me brands and I'm excited to introduce you all to Tawdry Terrier, an indie with punny canine themed names.

Today I have three polishes from their Dog Days of Summer Collection.  Because of their sheerer formulas, I chose to layer all three over a matching creme, all listed below.

Muttjito Mint
over LCN I Love Mint
Told you about the puns.  Anyway, Muttjito Mint is a pastel mint jelly with such heavy shimmer the finish is basically frosty.  In the bottle, there are tons of pink and purple hex glitter but unfortunately I had a really tough time fishing them out and getting them on my nails.  This is actually about three to four dollop'ed coats over the LCN mint.  Of the three, this was the most difficult formula to work with.

Bark Up the Sun
over China Glaze Peachy Keen
Unlike Muttjito Mint, Bark Up the Sun applied fantastically well.  Again a sheer jelly, this orange is less shimmery and has more equally dispersed hex gold, red, and green glitter.   This is more autumnal than summer to me, but either way, I loved how two coats looked over the peach creme.

Fort Barkerdale
over Lime Crime Milky Ways
I completely loved this.  Fort Barkerdale is a shimmery pale champagne jelly flushed with gold, blue, and pink micro hex glitter.  Two easy coat over an off white creme, Fort Barkerdake actually glowed on the nail.  I wore this for two days straight without a chip.  Removal wasn't too terrible and I didn't need anything but a little extra elbow grease.

You can purchase Tawdry Terrier polishes on its Etsy shop for $10 USD a bottle.  You can also find Tawdry Terrier on their blog, FacebookTwitterTumblrPinterestInstagram, and Google Plus.
