Lime Crime Milky Ways

Because I've been spending time with my family for Rosh Hashana, the Jewish New Year, I have a quickie post today that also serves as a well needed palette cleanser and completely appropriate for the solemnity of the Jewish High Holiday season culminating at Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement.

Religious lesson aside, Lime Crime Milky Ways is one of those must-have shades that is appealing and desirable simply because there is no frills about it.  The moment this collection was released last year, this vanilla creme jumped to the top of my wishlist.  Thanks to a coupon code and a sale on Karmaloop, I was finally able to get my hands on a few of Lime Crime's yummy pastel cremes, Milky Ways included.

There is something just so fresh and pure about this palest of yellows/bone cream shade that I just couldn't stop staring at my nails.  I also received tons of compliments when I wore this, so despite my weird hand-staring fetish, I'm not completely crazy about loving this color.

The formula was perfection and super buttery.  I used 3 coats just to even out any small bald patches, but otherwise could've gotten away with 2.

Sigh.  It's just so dreamy, right?  I really want to try this with layering in the future, maybe with scattered holographic top coat or some sparse gold glitter.  Any suggestions that I should try?  Let me know in the comments!

  1. This is a color after my heart. It's so creamy and beautiful and looks gorgeous on you. Sadly, I'm on a no-buy for the foreseeable future so I will have to wait to get this. I kept meaning to pick it up but I have their weird thing about not wanting to pay for shipping ever. lol

  3. Have you tried Jordana Copper Blaze over an off-white like this? CB looks a bit garish in the bottle but over white (I haven't tried it over off-white) it's a beautiful glitter topcoat of copper dot glitter and copper micro glitter. And it turns the base a buttery pale yellow.

  4. This is an amazing shade. I think it'd look cool with Revlon Heavenly layered on top!

  6. Thank you for the compliment! I totally get your aversion for shipping, I always feel like I'm throwing my money away so I try to get coupon codes that cancel out the cost. But check out Karmaloop, they always have good deals and are often on Wrapp so you can get $5 gift cards for free.

  9. I've only just swatched my Heavenly over OPI MBSW which is clearly more blue toned so I think your idea is great since this is warmer toned.
