I am ridiculously excited to show you Zoya's latest collection of PixieDust for Fall 2013. From the minute I saw the press release, I knew these were going to be my favorite set of all. The opaque, jewel-toned textured polishes just looked perfectly regal and autumnal, a thought only confirmed when the collection arrived at my doorstep.
Note about formula: every swatch required only two coats for full opacity. Unlike previous PixieDust formulas, I had no issues of weird texture drag or clumpiness in applying these.
Initially, I was convinced that Dhara was going to be the worst of the batch. The orange shade of PixieDust just looked too similar to the Summer PixieDusts, which I liked but didn't love. However, once Dhara was on my fingers, I ate my words. Like candied tangerine, Dhara is a red-toned mandarin orange texture with gorgeous gold shimmer. While not my favorite of the collection, I'm really quite a fan of this.
A pale champagne, Tomoko is light and fresh with a little bit of glitz. Because I'm so pale, I think some of the silvery gold texture detail gets lost on me, but on a deeper or darker skin tone, Tomoko would really glow.
Definitely one of my top four from this collection, Arabella is a deep fuchsia pink with silver shimmer, which only adds to that depth. While blue-toned, there's a warmth to Arabella that's perfect for fall. This is truly a standout beauty.
Chita Again, another favorite. Chita is a rich evergreen flushed with just the right amount of gold shimmer. The texture quality gives this almost a suede like appearance, but the glow from the PixieDust particles is just beyond lovely.
Similar in formula and tone to Chita, Sunshine is a medium denim blue with silver shimmer. There are no words for how much I adore this dusty cobalt textured polish.
I must say, Carter is quite the star of this collection. A violet jellied texture, Carter is swimming with bright pink shimmer, which you can make out flashes of in my swatch. While the first coat applies weak and thin, the second coat really brings this blue-toned purple to life. To be honest, this probably could've used a third coat but in real life, it looked more opaque than in my photo.
