Twinsie Tuesday: Something New

To be very honest with everyone this morning, I'm kind of disappointed in this post.  For today's Twinsie Tuesday theme, we have to post something new.  That could be anything: technique, nail art, brand you've never used, etc.

I anticipated trying out the self-made decal idea that I thought was revolutionary when I saw it on Ten Little Nubs a few weeks ago.  I polished a few colors onto a plastic bag and once dry, I attempted to cut the piece with my chevron-ing scissor.  Unfortunately, my polish strips weren't thick enough and broke apart when placed on my nail.

With my TT publish by date looming before me, I had to do the blogger hustle and rethink my strategy.  Something new could also mean just that -- something new.  Only last week I walked into Walgreens, spied the LE Pop Art collection, and snagged Teal Softly and See (and for 69 cents!).  I think that counts as new, am I right?

Teal Softly and See is really not teal and certainly not soft.  While my photos make this creme look somewhat sky blue, there is a tiny bit of green in this formula to actually pull it a wee bit aqua, but definitely by no means teal.  The formula was fantastic; while it required three coats for leveling, it really wasn't as chalky as a bright pastel like this can typically be.

I absolutely love my "new" polish...even if it wasn't up to par with the challenge.  Wet n Wild needs to keep upping the ante with colors like these, that are both wearable, seasonable, youthful, and affordable.

  8. It was the only color from the whole collection I felt compelled to get. The rest are fairly dupey.

  18. Such a gorgeous blue!!! I love it on you. Honestly, I'm too lazy to make my own decals. I do admire those who've done it though.

  19. I thought the decals would be much easier than nail art or using tape. I was very very wrong.

  22. While it wasn't what I was going for, at least I wasn't cheating (which I've been known to do from time to time on TT...)
