Just Soles Modeling Gig: Because You Know, That's What I Do Now...

A few weeks ago, I was asked to walk in a blogger-modeled fashion show to promote Just Soles, a new online closet thought up by the lovely Heather Holt where the every girl's inner Carrie Bradshaw has access to the high-end shoes of her dreams.  On the site, shoppers can buy, sell, rent, or share a dream shoe closet with other shoe-aholics who understand the shoe passion. Heather Holt designed Just-Soles as a user driven site, so shoppers from across the globe can get their hands on those amazing Brian Atwoods that have been long lusted for, without spending all their rent money.

The busy night kicked off as guests strutted into the beautifully designed Ludlow Studios.  As each guest arrived, they were met at the step-and-repeat by professional photographer Kelly Turso for their own personal photoshoots.  The next few hours were full of music, provided by  DJ Luong, a little bit of mingling, and a lot of shoe gossip. Everyone sipped on Voix De La Terra wine, enjoyed organic Dosha Pops, and of course ogled the Jimmy Choos, Christian Louboutins and Brian Atwoods on display.

If you follow me on Instagram, you'll know that I spent the evening uploading a flurry of event photos, so all the grainier shots are from IG via my Samsung Galaxy.

From the press release on the event:

The launch event was complete with a runway walk featuring some of the city’s top fashion bloggers. Tracy Kaler of Tracysnewyorklife.com, Emily Bache and Abigail Breslin of wanderlust.com, Amanda M. of Amandalandish.com, Tineey of Tineey.com, and Allison Toombs of LadyandtheBlog.com strutted their stuff donning shoes directly from the Just Soles site. Heather concluded the runway show by explaining how her shoe obsession blossomed into her own company, and in doing so, showed how hard work turns shoe dreams into realities.

Here are some of the press shots from the show; the first picture is me in my Maniacs and the second is of the blogger models.  As a newbie model, I reveled in spending the evening wearing a pair of Brian Atwood Maniac Polka Dot pumps and was grateful to not have fallen during my "catwalk."

Here are a few more pictures from the night!

Me -- backstage.  Look at all those shoe boxes!!!
Hmm...so 5"3 isn't the average height of a model, I guess?
Clearly I was too enamored by the Maniacs to pay attention to the cameras.
And just some randoms -- again from IG -- that I collage'd up.  From top right clockwise, my cheerleaders and support: the fiance, the friend, the shoe, the cousin.  My mom was also there but she's camera shy.
So that was my first modeling gig!  Do you think I made Tyra proud? ;)

Oh, and another important tidbit!

Heather mentioned anyone who rents with Just Soles now until July 24th will be entered to win a pair of Christian Louboutins!  Go for it, girls!

Shout out to Justine and the other ladies of Janine Just, the PR firm hosting the event.  They completely made us all feel at ease in what was clearly unfamiliar territory for many of us.  Thank you, you beautiful women you, for making the night a success for all!
