Sally Hansen Sugar Fix

Riding the textured polish bandwagon, I felt compelled to own one in white.  When I saw Sally Hansen Sugar Fix from their Sugar Coat Collection, I thought, well there's a polish I should own.

And own I did.  I adore white polish and think the bright clean shade is perfect for summer.  However, as I began applying Sugar Fix, I started to question my decision.

A somewhat messy application of three coats later, I arrived at this look.

In theory, I like this.  It's a clean white, pops against my skin tone, and is fairly subtle as textured polish goes.  However, I couldn't stop thinking it looked like I had cottage cheese on my fingertips.  Apart from my own dairy-esque sentiments, I received pretty mixed responses to the texture factor at work, but most people were not into it.  Oddly enough, as I look at the swatch now, I kinda like it again...maybe just not on.

What are your thoughts on Sugar Fix?

  1. It reminds me of a flocked Christmas tree!

  2. You're clearly more festively-minded that I am. Plus, I'm Jewish. I have no idea what flock entails unless it involves sheep.

  3. Hehe, that's not far off, actually! Flocking is a fluffy white coating that's sprayed onto Christmas trees to make them look like they're perma-covered in snow. Very popular back in the stone ages, when I was a kid. ;)

  4. I kind of like it, but maybe not on it's own. I bet it would look lovely stamped over.

  5. A winter themed stamp would look great!

  6. Sugar coat must just evoke odd comparisons in people. Razzleberry evoked "gross looking" and "posessed" for me! At least people were most likely more nice to you about your sugar coat!

  8. I like it! I am really regretting not picking it up but I have so many textures I didn't want to overdo it! :)

  9. Hahaha! Actually, no. Most people were like that is too weird, and why??? The only person who actually liked it was my boss and I typically don't share her taste in things.

  10. It was difficult to get past it while wearing it!

  11. I hear you. I'm in that same boat. I keep getting them but then think, is this going to be another crackle situation all over again?

  12. LOL! That's what everyone is saying! I really hope not because I love the ones I have! :)

  13. Yes, I get the "snow" look, but I was actually thinking of marshmallows + chocolate + graham crackers! I like it. :)

  15. Ohhh I was right with you up until cottage cheese. The thoughts of that stuff turns my stomach, I'll never unsee it when I see a white texture polish again! *vomit*

  16. I am more drawn to the creme ones versus the sparkle ones, so this is right up my alley! I could see some fun holiday nail art with this - being it looks like snow.

  19. Now that you mention it, I can't un-see the cottage cheese comparison. Ack, cottage cheese always sicks me out! Maybe it looks more like sugar on a powdered donut...? I really want to try one of these Sugar Coat polishes eventually though!

  21. I like it! Looks like snow to me, so it's a perfect polish for winter, but maybe not so great in the summer.. :)
