China Glaze Itty, Bitty, & Gritty

While I'm not crazy about this swatch, since I'm in the middle of a move, I'm a little too crazed to go back and reswatch.  I hope you understand.

To be really honest, I initially wasn't feeling the textured trend.  I mean, eww.  Isn't that what top coat is for, people??  But the more I tried them, the more I grew intrigued, to the point, where in addition to those I was lucky enough to be sent for review, I found myself actually purchasing them.  Even after my weird "cottage cheese" fiasco, I'm surprised I still persisted.

Behold, China Glaze Itty, Bitty, & Gritty, a corally orange creme texture that for some reason just reminded me of sand on the beach.  Perhaps because it feels like real sand was added to create the China Glaze texture feel, but I like to think the bright, beachy color makes a difference.

The formula was worlds better than the aforementioned Sally Hansen (and you all know how I hate to speak badly about my Sally!), and applied smoothly, neatly, and evenly in two coats.  It goes without saying, this was rough to the touch, though not nearly as prickly as the Zoya Pixiedusts or Julie G. Frosted Gumdrops.

When I posted Sugar Fix on the blog and on Instagram, I received very mixed comments about the preference of creme texture over sparkly texture and vice versa.  I found it so interesting to see how divided people were on this!

Now the question remains, how long will this texture trend last...do we have another crackle on our hands...pun totally intended.

  1. I reviewed the blue from this collection today. I'm still not feeling the textures but I love this color on you!

  2. Ah, coral cottage cheese! ;-) I don't think I'll ever love the textured trend, but I DO like the colour a lot and in fairness to the brand this is one of the less extreme textures. Some of them are obscenely lumpy. Good luck with the move!

  3. It's a pretty shade. Good to see you still trying textured polishes :)

  4. I really like this shade! I'm liking the texture, but am a bit iffy about it as well...

  5. Thanks! Yeah, the cremes are hit and miss on people, although I personally found the sheerer sparkly ones harder to pull off myself.

  6. It's dense without being difficult to work with.

  7. Obscenely lumpy is well put! But yes, this is on the milder spectrum of cottage cheeseness. And thanks!

  8. Yeah, not sure why I'm still on this bandwagon but I'm on it nonetheless...

  9. It's just so weird, it's hard not to at least try it.

  10. I can't decide how I feel about creme textures. I feel like it's hit or miss for me, depending on the color. I am definitely a big fan of sparkly (surprise surprise) textures though! That being said, I think, like you said, the fun, beachy color helps make this a very pretty look. :)

  11. I love this color so much! I'm just not a big fan of the ChG or Milani textures, though. I prefer the sparkly textures.

  12. The cremes walk the fine line of looking chic and en trend to looking like lumpy baby food.
