Super Black Lacquers Swatches and Review

Despite sporting some nubbins, I'm "super" (don't worry I'm rolling my own eyes) excited to show you a relatively new brand, Super Black Lacquers.  This brand has an edgy, modern girl feel to it, with a whole slew of really chic yet super trendy shades to choose from.  Definitely something for every polish lover.

Here are three beauties I was lucky to try out:

Becky
A heavenly deep teal jelly, Becky is alight with emerald green glitter, appropriately balanced in the rich jellied base.  I can even begin to tell you how cool I think this shade is, and despite its super modern tone, reminds me of the classic Water Lilies masterpiece by Monet.  The brushes on SBL polishes are on the longer side, but the application was flawless.  3 coats for this stunning polish.

The Whale
As a lover of grey polish, The Whale absolutely took my breath away.  A shimmery medium grey, with any light, a semi-duochrome effect erupts and The Whale is flushed with green shimmer.  I also think the name of this polish is really cool; I know I'm channeling a similarly named indie movie from a few years back, but I couldn't stop thinking about how a movie should totally be made called Becky and Whale.  This was a beautiful, smooth 2 coats.

Purdy
Purdy is a quintessential Amanda shade.  Purple?  Check.  Shimmer-creme?  Check.  Pastel with a kick?  Hells to the yeah check.  Purdy, like The Whale, comes alive with pink duochrome-esque shimmer with any sort of light.  While photo didn't capture how potent the pink shimmer is, please believe me when I say it's remarkable.  Again, 2 perfect coats that leveled nicely and dried slightly matte.

To say that I'm in love with Super Black Lacquers is an ridiculous understatement.  These shades are unique, accessible, long-wearing, and easy to apply -- making any polishaholic happy.  Stay tuned for later in the week when I showcase a really special SBL for you ladies ;)

Super Black Lacquers retail for $12 each and can be purchased by clicking here.

  12. Well, my first stop when checking out a new indie is their shipping info. Hadn't spotted the note above about no int'l shipping, so I didn't stay to look around long--I saw some really pretty finishes but didn't wanna fall in love. ;)
