SpaRitual Reflect Summer 2013 Collection

Good morning, ladies.

I was recently sent a very interesting summer collection from SpaRitual, a vegan, luxury brand with a user-friendly rubber cap.  I say interesting, because when I think summer, my head goes to bright, vibrant shades reminiscent of tropical settings and beaches.  When I opened the Reflect Summer Collection, I was a bit surprised by what I thought of as Georgia O'Keeffe-inspired shades of the southwest.  However, as SpaRitual explains:

"The Reflect Nail Lacquer Collection is inspired by the glowing jewel-tones of late summer afternoons and the fleeting shimmer of sunlight across the water and sky as the sun sets in the horizon."

Let's see how these late summer colors turned out, shall we?

Kindness
I'm quite surprised at how much I like this burnt sienna shimmer on my hands.  While not a color I'd normally gravitate towards, the rich golden shimmer completely brings this shade to life.  The application was fantastic and this was beautifully opaque in 2 coats.

Positive Vibe
Again, not my typical go-to shade, but Positive Vibe is unique.  A crelly mustard, this reminded me of hot dogs and hamburgers and the gluttonous dream of summer afternoons.  Odd connection, but what have you.  For those that love a good yellow, Positive Vibe is dusty version of the classic taxi cab yellow and something to add to your collection.  This was 2 easy coats.

Freedom
Freedom is a brown-leaning purple creme with a beautiful, yet slightly hidden baby blue shimmer.  This would be an autumn must have for me, but I definitely see how this has a geological feel that contributes to this collection.  The formula was good, although certainly not the best from the collection, and needed 3 coats for this richness.

Joy
Now we're talking!  J'adore!  A bone, off-white creme, Joy completely comes to life with its golden ivory shimmer.  Application was perfection and this was 2 easy coats.  This is without a doubt my favorite from the entire collection.

Innocence
A crelly nude, Innocence has the potential to be universally flattering.  Reminiscent of OPI Skull and Glossbones, the grey-leaning quality to Innocence is both fresh and chic.  This was 2 coats.

Inner Beauty
Since I'm not a huge fan of foils, Inner Beauty is a bit lost on me.  A pink-to-gold duochrome foil, there certainly is potential here.   Ideally, I'd love to see this with a stronger pink creme base, but I can still see many girls loving the soft blinginess of this shade.  This was 3 coats.

I really enjoy the unique take on summer SpaRitual reflected through this collection.  A group of 6 multi-finished warm-toned polishes, there is something here for everyone.  Importantly, each polish in this collection is infused with Ecocert-certified bamboo to increase nail thickness for up to 35% stronger nails.

The Reflect Summer Collection will be available May 1.  For more information about SpaRitual lacquers, philosophy, and where to purchase, please click here.

  4. Joy is so pretty! It's my favorite out of these, but I also really love Freedom, even though it doesn't really make me think of spring.
