Essie Maximilian Strasse-Her

To end the week, I have my third polish from the Essie Spring Collection for 2013.  Maximilian Strasse-Her is a sagey grey/dusty green creme that is both soft and chic, the color a more rebellious ballerina might wear (totally made that up, obviously, but it's where my mind went).  The application was fantastically smooth and applied opaquely in 2 or 3 coats -- I unfortunately can't remember how many I used for the swatch below.

Like the other Essie polishes from this collection, Maximilian Strasse-Her is inspired by a highly fashionable international street.   Maximilianstra├če (or Maximilianstrasse to my non-German speaking readers) is one of Munich, Germany's four royal avenues and is home to art galleries, luxury boutiques, and designer stores (Bulgari, Chanel, and Escada, to name but a few).  Maximilianstra├če is also known for its five star hotels, the most famous of which is Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten, seen below.

Doesn't Maximilian Strasse Her bare an uncanny resemblance to the grey-green tones of the Jahreszeiten roof?

  15. You "NAIL"ED it. This color has an uber industrial look to it and until I saw the roofs of the buildings I couldn't put my finger on it. This is my color for the summer!

  16. Industrial works for a German inspired polish, don't you think? Although, there's something soft about it that makes it more accessible and more springlike than it would be otherwise.

  17. It's a very simple polish but there's something really chic about it that I completely understand draws you in.
