Essie Avenue Maintain

The moment I saw the Essie Madison Ave-hue Spring 2013 Collection, I knew I needed it all.  A sextet of creamy pastels inspired by major streets in international fashionable cities, I ordered the whole lot without missing a beat.  I initially intended to post the collection as a whole, but each polish has such character to it, I thought it only right to highlight each stunning shade on its own.

Avenue Maintain is the standout bright in this collection.  A happy, cerulean blue creme, Avenue Maintain applies beautifully in two easy coats.  A fan of blue polish, I was surprised to discover I don't have anything really similar to this chic azure.  This is truly the perfect spring-to-summer blue!

Avenue Maintain is the French depiction in the Essie collection.  The real Avenue Montaigne, a Parisian high street in the Champs-Élysées, is scattered with high-end fashion houses and shops.  Do Louis Vuitton and Chanel tickle your fancy?  Care to see the home (Apt. 12, to be exact!) that Marlene Dietrich maintained until her death?  If so, I recommend you se promener dans cette rue!

Do you think Essie chose this particular street sign as her inspiration for Avenue Maintain??

  3. Oh yes, I love that blue! This is perfect for spring and summer. It looks like blue sky or like a pool of cool blue water.

  4. It's a bit darker than sky blue but perfect for a Mediterranean blue!

  8. Gorgeous blue! It kind of reminds me of the only Essie I have, Coat Azure, but without the shimmer. It looks great on you!
