Twinsie Tuesday: Copycat Manicure, Take 2

Today we have a bit of a repeat on Twinsie Tuesday.  Back by popular demand, we have the Copycat Mani, Take 2.  Again, we were assigned another Twinsie secretly and charged with recreating one of her previous posts.

And who was the Twinsie I spent the better part of a day blog-stalking?  That would be the lovely Meredith from Polish and Charms.

If you've followed Meredith for awhile, you'll know the girl loves a good matte topcoat.  So it went without saying that I had to copy one of her matted manis.  Behold, my recreation:

This is two coats of China Glaze Immortal, one coat Essie Shine of the Times, and topped with Hard Candy Matte Top Coat.

In Meredith's original manicure, she used Pure Ice Kiss Me Here, Out the Door Northern Lights, and then a matte topper.  I couldn't for the life of me find my Northern Lights so I used the shimmery Immortal to make up for it.

Sorry for the blurry/grainy quality!  The photo is no longer available on Meredith's blog so I had to save this off  Google Image.
What I find particularly beautiful about Meredith's mani is how the cool-tone of the grey contrasts with the warm-tone of the Essie flakie creating a complex and unique look, enhanced by the matte finish.  While I typically shy away from mattes myself, I think that was key to bringing this whole look together.

Well, Meredith, how did I do?   Polish and Charms-worthy?

In the meantime, make sure to click the links below to see who everyone else got...I'm curious who got me this round!

P.S. Happy Birthday, Marisa!!

  13. No worries! I had switched things aound a long time ago so pics disapeared, then blogger said I reached my upload limit, then my storage on photo bucket was almost full! The easiest way to show them all was a collage of each month!
