Today's Twinsie Tuesday is a pretty cool one, in my opinion. The group of us was assigned a taskmaster who would give us a challenge, and no matter how hard, ridiculous, or stupid it was, we had to comply.
I say that because of her marching orders: a glitter gradient. Seriously, Maribeth? It wasn't enough you cowed to peer pressure and forced me to wear glitter, but a gradient? Well, I rose to the challenge! Ish...
I started with three coats of Sally Hansen Without a Stitch, a yellow-toned nude creme. On my middle finger, I layered that with Jessica Gingersnap, an OPI Warm and Fozzie dupe. On my pinkie, I used Pure Ice 582CP (if it has a name, I've yet to find it), a simply gold microglitter. And to the gradient!
So I followed the rather straightforward tutorial of the brilliant and British Nailasaurus (to be found here) and mixed Gingersnap and 582CP onto my ring finger. While it's not super clear in my picture, I can promise you that in real life, the gradient was visible. Does that count?
I think for my first go with gradient -- a GLITTER one, no less -- I did well, although I may have found glitters that segued into one another too well. I'll leave the final decision up to you ladies and Maribeth: did I follow my marching orders to a T or do I have to go back to boot camp?
Check out all the other marching order manis. I was a bit evil to Marisa so I can't wait to see how see carried out my ridiculous challenge.
