SpaRitual Sacred Ground

I'm a huge fan of grey polish.  Throw in some purple, blue, and gold flakie shimmer, and I think we have a luuurve connection (that's for you, Anne ;)

SpaRitual is one of the earlier brands to go green.  Free of all the bad stuff, the first time I tried the brand over two years ago, I found it chipped pretty quickly.  However, since then, they appear to have improved their formula and now SpaRitual polish applies easily and stays put.  While I often find their colors on the blander side, sometimes they surprise me with a random stunner; much like Sacred Ground here.

I can't even begin to tell you how much I adore this polish.  While formula-wise, it applies semi-jellyish, this charcoal grey shimmer dries with a glazed stone appearance, much like the rocks that amazed me as a kid.  You know, the ones that were cut in half and then smoothed down to highlight the rich graveled pigment of the sedimentary layers.  (Thank you, second grade geology.)

For this masterpiece of a manicure, I used 3 coats.

If you enlarge the photo, you can really see how the purple, blue, and gold shimmer truly amplify this polish into something really special.  An absolute win in my book.

  1. That is one gorgeous polish. It reminds me of OPI's Number One Nemesis. Beautiful!

  4. It's very similar but less metallic. The flakie shimmer is also a lot more striking in this base.

  5. I have Revlon Carbonite, which is a supposed dupe for NON, and I can tell you they're very different. There's a depth to the SpaRitual that just feels prettier and less gritty than the others, which I attribute to the colored shimmer. NON and its dupes are more monochromatic and cooler toned.
