OPI Polka.com Jellied...ish

Day Two of my teal challenge with Elizabeth and I'm already rocking the glitter.

While this can't technically be classified as a teal mani, I'm going to say this totally counts because the hex glitter in Polka.com (okay, coolest OPI name ever!) are pink, purple, and -- you guessed it -- teal...surrounded by some microglitter in the same shades.  I decided to highlight how pastel and sweet this combination of glitters is by dabbing it (not polishing, it's a bit too thick for it to evenly lay that way) over OPI My Vampire is Buff, an absolutely stunning cream creme (you read that correctly) from the same Euro Centrale Spring 2012 Collection.

However, I'm not a huge fan of in your face, disco ball looking fingers, so I decided to jelly it a bit in an attempt to mute the metallic-ness.  For that, I vacillated between using Zoya Adel and Nicole by OPI Kim-pletely in Love and ultimately decided on the Kardashian because I thought the pink flakie shimmer would add a bit of something the the mix.  I can't say that the NOPI made a huge difference, but two coats of it definitely muted the glitter glare and left me with a pretty cutesy mani.

I know I don't like glitter, but there's something rather endearing about this, right?  Very pastel and Spring-esque.  I actually wore this as a full mani for a day and was only mildly uncomfortably with something so busy on my hands.  I consider that a success for the glitterphiles.

Looking forward to seeing purple number #2, Ms. DMN...

  10. It is glitter; it has teal. BOOM, count it!

I actually really love this, Amanda! Jellied up, it definitely softens the in-your-face-ness of the glitter, and the colours look great together. I definitely didn't expect you to wear glitter as a full mani, especially not for a whole day! Maybe it's not the teal-iest teal that ever tealed, but I don't care. It looks great!
