Almost done with Teal Week! Which is good because I'm running low on my teal-appropriate polishes.
For today, I actually had to create my teal of the day. I started with two coats of Deborah Lippman Mama Don't Tell, my very first DL that was gifted to me by my polish bestie, Nory. However, despite how deceiving it appeared in the bottle, there was no mistaking the fact that this polish, once one, was an emerald-black creme with a slight duochrome quality. No teal here.
So I without really giving much thought to it, I grabbed Love & Beauty Mermaid Glitter, a highly pigmented green microglitter/shimmer polish that typically applies on the sheerer side I had on my bedstand. My best friend picked this up for me, among other beauties, for Chanukah this year and I felt compelled to dash a layer of this on top of the non-teal Deborah Lippmann. Magically, the two greens created a teal. And not just any teal, a jewel toned teal with seemingly burnt edges and rich pools of shimmer.
I love, love, love this!
I mean yeah, this is totally on the greener side of teal, but there is definitely a tinge of blue in there, which I attribute to the black in the Deborah Lippmann base. If this combo came as one polish, there's no question I'd buy it. I'm actually still wearing this as I type and am dreading having to take it off for Day 7.
