Twinsie Tuesday: Saran Wrap

And I thought this week was going to be easy...

Due to major stress in my personal life, I was hoping I could sail through today's Twinsie Tuesday without thinking twice.  I have no idea what gave me any inclination that I could excel in the saran wrap technique necessary for today's post, but somehow I was deluded enough to think that even I, Master of Nothing, Nail Art Failure-aire, could manage it.

Wrong.

This is my second manicure that I butchered in attempt to complete this TT post; the only reason two fingers are saran wrapped is because I started with my ring finger as an accent nail, got cocky, tried saran'ing my middle, thought it looked horrible, and stopped.

Behold my saran wrap mani.

*Hint to those that may attempt this in the future, like magnetics, you need to polish one nail, saran, then move on to the next.  Polishing the top color on all nails and then saran'ing will not a happy mani make.

I have no complaints about my color combo, however.  I love the mix of the Love & Beauty Periwinkle with China Glaze Sea Spray (thanks, Anna!).  Maybe if I get more adventurous I can do something else with these colors together.

For more saran wrapped manis which I assume are highly more fine tuned than my own, please make sure to check out my Twinsies' posts as well by clicking their links listed below.

  3. These colours are so beautiful together, Amanda! I actually think it looks great with the middle two fingers done, letting the pretty Periwinkle show through more on the others. I find it's a lot easier to control the results if you add polish with the saran wrap instead of taking it away, but I really need to try your method again soon too.

Definitely get adventurous--I'd love to see more of this combination! :D

  6. I think this came out awesome. It is definitely not the outcome of a "butchered" mani. Stop being so hard on yourself, your nail art is good!

  8. These colors go really well together. Looks like the polish needed to dry a bit more. You'll get it next time ;0).

  11. Actually it was the opposite, it was *too* dry which made saran'ing harder.
