Revlon Girly and Zoya Perrie

I don't know what it is, but when it comes to pastels I have an absolute weakness.  Even when there's glitter involved, I can somehow see past the hated glitz and find myself liking it.  And so explains how I ended up with Revlon Girly in my possession.

When I first spotted it in Rite Aid a day after the Girly semi-mania (come on, this is no way competes with the Great Whimsical Hysteria of '11), I found myself clearing out the display for a friend I knew would love it.  But I couldn't help myself, I needed this purply pink jelly...even if it was saturated with both matte and metallic glitter.  In fact, the blue, pink, and purple glitter subtly offset the milky base and reminded me of the much-ogled Rebecca Likes Cupcakes franken.

However, I love my manis super opaque, so I went in search of the perfect creme to layer Girly over.  My polish bestie, Nory, told me to wait a few days for my Chanukah swap to come in because there was "the perfect" polish to go under this.  Boy did Nory call it!  The Zoya Perrie she sent magically ossified the jelly and made this a mani that even I could (and would!) wear.

This is one coat of the lovely Perrie with two coats of Girly.  The glitter applies fairly evenly, but required a few dabs here and there for filler.

Isn't this just awesome?  I really, really love this.  I think I may even make a polish ring with this combo since I can't stop staring at it.  Total swoon moment over here.

From what I've heard, Girly will be part of the Revlon core line, despite the fact that it's currently only sold limitedly in the current displays.  I only say that because there's no need to mow anyone down in pursuit of this polish; it should be available to us all shortly.

  2. Thanks, Marisa! I'm still trying to find another bottle for you...so far, I've only seen this at one Rite Aid, I think.

  3. I have been trying to find a way to make Zoya Perrie look good with my skin tone because on it's own it does not. This could work for me! Thanks! On another note, I love that you respond to your blog comments and stay connect with your followers! I just recently started following your blog but I really do like it!

  4. Firstly, thank you so much! My attitude is if you're taking the time out to not only read my blog, but to comment, it's my pleasure to respond! I'm also always available via email if you have any other questions or things you'd like to discuss :)

Secondly, I totally hear you about Perrie, I have similar issues with pinks that bleed into my skin tone. They're beautiful in the bottle, but just too close in base to my skin that it looks horrible. Someone with perhaps a darker complexion than me (which is most people) I can see having some issues with Perrie, regardless of how lovely a purply pink it is on it's own. But I highly suggest you layer Girly over it, if you have this Revlon, since the two really go so well together. I was initially going to layer it over Enchanted, a Revlon lavender crelly from the same collection, but I think Perrie was a much better choice. Let me know what you think of the combo if you try it out!

  10. Oh, wow. These two go together perfectly! Girly may lean more purple than I like to wear, but an Amanda-approved glitter is a rare and beautiful thing! ^_^
