Pure Ice Diamond One Coat Glitters Collection

Of the flurry of new Pure Ice shades hitting the market, I'm surprised that their diamond one coat glitter collection has gone a bit under the radar.  A set of six sheer jellies, each is packed with shimmery glitter and holographic diamond glitter pieces.

I had issues with these in that every time I tried to swatch these, I somehow managed to destroy my manicure.  It got to the point where I just gave up and decided to showcase them on their own via a swatching wheel.  My apologies for those of you who prefer actual nail shots but I assure you this highlights the polishes way more than my manicure tried to.

The formula for each was identical: a tad bit on the thicker side, they applied smoothly and weren't top coat hungry at all.  As you can see in the swatch below, the diamonds have a mind of their own and may or may not require fishing to get on the brush.  On the wheel, I didn't fish, so what you see is just the standard dip of the brush.

Each swatch is one coat of the diamond glitter polish over two coats of its underwear.

2.  Tinsel Town (over Pure Ice French Kiss)
3.  Material Girl (over OPI Sparrow Me the Drama)
4. Hot-Rocks (over Sally Hansen Wet Cement)
5.  Sea-quin (over Revlon Muse)
6.  Silver Lining (over Mattese Elite Consigliere)

To be honest, these aren't my cup of tea.  I am totally behind the shimmery glitter in the jelly base but somehow the diamond totally throw me off.  Maybe because they're not symmetric or maybe because I'm not really a glitter lover, I found this collection a tad bit juvenile.  But that's just me; I know of whole bunch of ladies who would make these rock over the holidays and New Years.

You can purchase Pure Ice from the Bari Cosmetics website or at Walmart stores nationwide.

  1. Wow, these look so much better than I expected, based on the bottles! I like the range of colours and *love* the shimmery, jelly base. Nice that the diamonds aren't overwhelming--they add just a little bit of flash without going totally overboard. I can actually see #6 being used in some really pretty winter designs!

  2. I would completely agree...except for the diamonds. These would be major keepers in my book if it wasn't for those.
