Jessica Cosmetics It's a Girl Thing Spring 2013 Collection

Jessica has quickly become a brand that I can count on to release cohesive, trendy, and user friendly collections every season.  The formula is buttery perfection and the colors are always seasonally appropriate.  I was super excited of course to have received the Jessica Spring 2013 Collection, It's a Girl Thing.

Jessica's Spring Collection is pastels on steroids, a compilation of vibrant, flirty colors that can't help but make a girl smile while wearing them.  Each polish is named after a girl in Jessica's life, in addition to the color name.

Let's take a look, shall we?

New Kid in Town (Ava)
The truest pastel in the bunch, NKIT is a soft lavender crelly that finishes to a super glossy shine.  Perfect year round, this polish is a staple for all purple lovers.  This is two coats on the thicker side.

Smitten Kitten (Amira)
I go gaga for pinks like this, that are bright without being consider "hot."  A blue-toned medium pink, this creme applied like butter in two coats.  The photo washed the shade out a bit, so please note that this is somewhat brighter in person.

Sun-Kissed Beauty (Alia)
Ever since I was a little girl, I always loved a good orange polish.  Not sure why since I typically don't gravitate towards anything orange, polish is this hue just makes me happy.  Sun-Kissed Beauty is the perfect spring/summer shade, that depending on the light shifts from blood orange to neon red, to bright coral.  The creme applied beautifully in two coats.

Ruby Empress (Alexis)
While Ruby Empress looks somewhat similar to Sun-Kissed Beauty, this red is a true tomato red creme that is blue-toned, rather than yellow-toned as this picture slightly suggests.  I just could not for the life of me get this to photograph how it appears in real life.  The cool thing about Ruby Empress is actually that there is a slight pink shimmer that runs through this polish, which while not quite visible, makes this red have a bit of a glow once on.  Ruby Empress, despite being a creme, required three coats for complete opacity.

Sterling Queen (Nadia)
I have to say Sterling Queen somewhat disappointed me.  I love a good grey, especially a Spring one, so I was excited to take this one for a spin.  Unfortunately, the grey creme is overtaken by it's silver pearly finish that leaves it feeling frosty and outdated.  Two coats used here.

True Blue (Sophia)
Ah, perfection.  A lovely robin egg's blue, True Blue just delights, doesn't it?  A crelly that dries like a creme, this baby only needed two coats.  This one ties with Sun-Kissed Beauty for my favorite in the collection.
