Twinsie Tuesday: Oldest Polish

Twinsie Tuesday, girls.  You all know what that means.

For today's challenge, we are featuring our oldest polish.  Since I purged an extensive part of my collection when I started really getting into polish, I didn't have more of those old red and runny OPI bottles given to me by my mom way back when in the '90s.  I went through my stash mentally while I was away for Thanksgiving and still struggled finding anything super old to swatch.

Once I got home, I remembered a polish I picked up at the beginning of college which is nearing about ten years ago...oy, I'm getting old.  Anyways, I remember thinking this polish was just sooo cool.  I think I must have worn this like twice since.  Yeah, that cool.

Anyways, Cover Girl Violet Vision is an old school CG polish, back in the days when they made like four colors in total.  A lilac frosty semi-metallic, there is really nothing redeeming about this polish.  A bit runny and super brushstroke-y, this required three coats to get it to the opacity you see below.

This polish even makes my cuticles look old.  Ugh.  Bad, bad, bad.

If anyone is interested in this polish, please let me know and I am happy to send it your way or swap.  I really have no use for this polish now that this TT post is over.

  1. I can definitely say your taste in polish has vastly improved! It's actually a nice shade of blue--kind of perriwinkle, which I totally love--but wow, those frosty brushstrokes! Hehe, you think you're old? Back in my day... ;p

  2. Lol! I certainly appreciate you noticing that I've matured from indefinable colored polish to a distinct taste for actual periwinkles that do not leave brushstrokes. This was not my finest moment.

  5. I'd have to disagree, but that's the beauty of so many different colors and finishes!

  10. It's not too bad! I like the color of it, maybe with out the frost. :)

  11. If only I still had polishes from 8-10 years ago, you would probably see my taste in polish has changed too. But then again, in that time frame I wore acrylics a lot. >_< The color of this is pretty but the brushstrokes push me in the other direction.

  12. Oh how our tastes change! I see that you were always a purple girl though. ;)

  13. Oooh this looks pretty. I feel like I used to have this polish...

  14. That was one thing I never did was acrylics. Despite the ugly colors I was clearly sporting, my nails were au naturale.

  15. I'm dying at how you are trying to get rid of it by the end, so funny - I love how so many people had the frosty polishes (I remember having a supercool Avon Colour Trend one, ugh) - I still wish I had all my old collection though, I had some amazing glitters - I'm still mourning them! x

  16. I hope I won't mourn this one day after I throw it out!
