Happy Tuesday, everyone.
For today's post, we were challenged to create a 3D manicure. The idea was inspired by our very own Ash's mushroom mani she created back in the May which co-won my Nail Art(ish) Competition with Anna's adorable entry.
I'm not the most creative person in the world; in fact, I'm more creative about getting myself out of situations where I'm forced to be creative, which is a bit of an ironic skillset but what have you. I started by swatching one of the new Pure Ice polishes sent to me for review in Nude Beach. What has quickly jumped the line to my now favorite nude polish, this Pure Ice is the best applying pastel I've ever used. Self-leveled and opaque in two coats, the formula was absolute butter.
The color is really what I love the most. Simple, yes, but the fact that this nude is peach-leaning makes me swoon. I love peaches and adore how they look on most people so this really won me over. Even more unique is the subtle silver frosty shimmer in this mix; you can't make it out on the nail (thankfully! Frost is typically not anyone's friend), but it just takes Nude Beach from basic mannequin hands to chic neutral. Love, love, love this.
Okay, but what about the Twinsie Tuesday challenge? To be honest, I initially swatched Nude Beach simply for reviewing purposes; I was so uninspired by the 3D concept I had actually planned on just posting a holographic polish and calling it a day. But the color of Nude Beach somehow reminded me of Cheerios and so I ran to my cereal cabinet and glued the next available O to my nail.
For the record, this is a Cheerio of the Honey Nut persuasion.
I'm not even going to dignify this ridiculous accent nail with any sort of explanation. Clearly, this is 3D and means that I completed my duty for the week. Check.
You can purchase Pure Ice from the Bari Cosmetics website or at Walmart stores nationwide.
