Pure Ice Alter Ego

And I'm back!

While not quite the absence, I was forced to take a blogcation due to the fact that the battery charger for my camera has apparently grown legs and joined the circus without leaving a forwarding address.  My camera, which is ancient at the age of nearly 6, decided to extend her retirement while I took advantage of the Black Friday online sales.  I am now the proud owner-to-be of a Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS19; I ordered it as store pick up at my local Best Buy when I get home Sunday morning.  Until then, I will regale you with a few swatches saved from before the camera catastrophe.

Anyways, I've always loved a good brown polish.  Not as stark as black but just as easy a neutral, the warm, minky shades have always defined my autumn palette.  When I was sent a few of the new Pure Ice polishes for review, I went gaga over Alter Ego simply from the bottle.  A rich, milk chocolaty brown creme, Alter Ego is flushed with silver multi-irregular sized flakies and bronze/pale gold shimmer.  Application was amazingly perfect and the color went on identical to how it looked in the bottle.  What you see is what you get, girls!

I used three coats for my mani below, but if I applied my second coat slightly more evenly that probably wouldn't have been necessary.

I get such weird joy just looking at the macro and bottle shots of the last few Pure Ice polishes I've swatched and reviewed.  There's something so thoughtful about each color that I truly appreciate.  For less than $2 a pop, these babies are highly worth seeking out.

You can purchase Pure Ice from the Bari Cosmetics website or at Walmart stores nationwide.

  5. I actually don't live so close to a Wal-mart so I'm hoping that Pure Ice gets more widely distributed!

  6. I'm so excited to start fiddling around with it...which sounds way dirtier than I intended while referring to a camera.
