L'oreal Brit Invasion

Hello, ladies.

So as the newly minted owner of a fancy schmancy new camera, I have discovered that I am
not a natural born photographer.  While I thought I had my white balance on, my macro focus set, and that wrist bracelet thingy attached, as I started taking pictures of my swatches for this week, as I uploaded, I noticed that my pictures were largely out of focus.  A fuzzy swatch does not a friendly blogger make.

I did discover, however, that photos in flash were spot-on: the colors were in no way manipulated and were in fact showcased beautifully.  The fingertip shadows are bothering me enough that I will be spending my weekend fiddling with settings, but in the meantime, welcome to my sophomore year at blogging photography.

But to the polish!  L'oreal Brit Invasion caught my eye from the minute I saw it on its display.  The other primary cremes seemed pretty standard, but my heart skipped a beat when my eye caught the golden glisten in this little bottle of brown.  Bordering on the mushroom/dark taupe spectrum of brown, Brit Invasion is the perfect autumn neutral with a kick.  The gold shimmer is super present and flashes in all light.  The tiny bit of purple in the base makes the color even more flattering on my pale, cool tone skin.

If this looks slightly familiar to you, you might want to reference back to my Thanksgiving Twinsie Tuesday post, which also gives a good comparison to other shimmery browns.

This is about two coats; a few nails required three due to bald patches.

Do you adore this as much as I do?  It really inspires me to wear all my warmer neutral polishes, so I apologize in advance for an upcoming flurry of brown polish posts.

  26. This is gorgeous!

I'm scared to mess with the settings on my camera just because I don't want to mess anything up. I need some lessons in blogging photography.
