LCN Mystique Burlesque Collection Winter 2012

Morning, ladies.

While I've scoured my house furiously looking for my camera's battery charger, I thought it best to stop a minute and post while I still have photos to share...since Lord knows the next time I'll be able to take more pictures.  Sigh.

Anyways, today I have another gorgeous cube set just released by LCN.  The Mystique Burlesque Collection for Winter 2012 is a four piece set of rich, jewel tone polishes with a semi-metallic sheen.  All required two coats and applied like butter.

Emerald Green
"A luxurious, velvety green."
While my photo gives this color more of an emerald bend to it, in real life, the color is slightly more yellow-leaning than it appears.  Still rich and bright, Emerald Green is a perfectly seasonal shade with a soft finish.

Red Ruby
"An elegant oxblood red."
Again, I'd have to say that the description LCN gives this is a bit off.  Red Ruby is certainly not oxblood, but a rich and bright ruby shimmer semi-metallic.  An absolute stunner, I loved how shiny this dried.

Blue Sapphire
"A decadent metallic cobalt blue."
Hmm, cobalt?  Not quite.  With a similar finish to Ruby Red, Blue Sapphire is quite bright for a jewel tone collection.  I can't pinpoint what exact shade I've label this, but it reminds me of a swimming pool in the summer, glossy and clear.  This is more of a summer shade to me but the sleek sheen it dries to is more wintery in my opinion.

Violet Amethyst
"A deep, royal purple."
A toss up with Red Ruby for my favorite, Violet Amethyst is what I'd call a royal purple in training.  Somewhere between dark lavender and royal purple, this polish is electric with blue shimmer running through it (which I thankfully caught in my photo).  Love this color so much!  Not super unique but I don't have anything quite like it.

As a whole, I really enjoyed this collection.  Rich, classic staple shades, each polish has a place in this season's -- and every other season's -- palette.  While each bottle is on the smaller side, the formula is stellar and certainly a worthwhile investment for someone who enjoys jewel tones.

The LCN Mystique Burlesque Collection is available now.  Polishes retail for $7.50 USD each or all four for $29.90 USD.

  1. These are beautiful shades! Definitely brighter than I'd expect from a winter collection, but then I tend to like brighter colours. Still wondering how that's supposed to be oxblood, though (or if you're Tara, yakblood).

  4. It's originally a European brand and was one of the first companies to create polish that replicated acrylic.

  6. I just finished swatching these this morning! Ah oh man the
Formula was great. I really enjoyed them all and can see myself layering some flakies over Violet Amethyst. I am wearing the red now and Melvin said it looked like a candid apple. Lol.
